As of September 2021, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) has 254 operating temples worldwide. In addition to these operating temples, there are 50 temples announced or under construction. Temples are considered sacred buildings within the LDS Church and are used for ordinances such as baptisms for the dead, endowments, and sealings. The number of temples may continue to increase as the church expands its global presence and membership.
